I am typing this blog post on my new Samsung Chromebook.  I have received an early Christmas present from my husband.  I plan on storing all of my genealogy information here because it is much smaller and more portable than my laptop.  We bought the Samsung Chromebook from Amazon.com because we paid for Amazon Prime and we receive free shipping on most items.  Not to mention the wonderful movie selection that is included in the Prime membership.  The only downside is that it is very difficult to browse their movies.
However, they are making improvements.
I am still exhausted from the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Too much good food.  Holidays are difficult for people with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury.  brainline.org  Brainline.org is an excellent resource for survivors of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury and their families.  Or anyone who is interested in learning more about concussions and brain injury.

Rainy Days

I haven't been writing much these past few days.  I have a really bad headache due to a car accident that happened in August 2012.  That is one of the reasons I wanted to update and continue posting on this blog to help improve my memory and concentration. 
I suffered a mild traumatic brain injury along with neck and back strain.  I hope by focusing on this blog that I will be able to overcome the deficits that I deal with every day.  My short-term memory as well as my long-term memory have been affected. 
This blog is definitely a work-in-progress and I am learning how to blog and do the genealogy research each day.
I have added several links to useful websites.  Most of which are free resources.  It would be easy to spend a small fortune on what may or may not be leads.
I am trying to improve my blog by adding useful content as well as making it attractive.

Gathering Resources

I have been working on gathering and organizing the resources that I have available to me at this time.  I have decided that this will be a life-long project and I am sure I will lose motivation sooner or later but I am determined to continue on this journey of tracing my ancestors.  I have most of my printed resources such as birth, death and census records in a binder.  I am also building a filing system so I can have a file folder of documented information for each person in my family tree.

This journey is fulfilling as well as frustrating.  I spent several hours last night just documenting information about my parents and grandparents.  This project will be very time consuming but I am looking forward to finding information about my ancestors and myself.
I am also going to use the Paper Tiger filing system to keep up with the various documents that I will need to file.  I have used this system for my personal documents and I have found it to be very reliable, especially since I have lost my short term and long term memory.   http://www.thepapertiger.com/
