Roy Thompson Lile

Roy Thompson Lile was born in 1903 and served in the United States Navy where he was enlisted as the Chief Storekeeper.  Roy Lile was captured and taken prisoner in the fall of Guam, December 8 - 9, 1941. He was held as a Prisoner of War at Tanagawa Osaka section 4-B.  He died of malnutrition while in captivity, on or about January 1, 1943. His parents were Robert Heston Lile, Sr. and Gertrude (Thompson) Lile of Clarkson, Kentucky.  He was awarded a Prisoner of War Medal posthumously for his actions during World War II. mansell.com
